Old Drift Lodge

Property Review – Arriving at Old Drift by way of the Zambezi River is an incredibly special experience. All chalets are beautifully lined up along the river, with a pier leading out from the main building which welcomes arriving guests. The atmosphere is a mix of modern and old world charm, with warmly decorated chalets that each feature a plunge pool and total privacy. I considered myself fortunate to be able to spend one night at this boutique property. A typical sunset cruise that allows for watching plenty of elephants, hippos, and crocodiles was followed by a thoroughly delicious 3-course dinner in the evening out on the deck close to the riverfront where the ambient lighting created a wonderfully warm atmosphere during our meal. The next morning we departed on a game drive after breakfast. The drive was led by one of the best guides I’ve ever had, providing us with a very informative, educational and often humorous account of our encounters with wildlife and the footsteps they left behind. Old Drift also offers game walks amongst its included activities. Old Drift is the closest lodge to Victoria Falls town and is conveniently located within the national park, and in my opinion is an ideal place for high-end  travellers, couples and honeymooners.
