Zambezi Sands offers a wealth of picturesque game viewing opportunities – whether you chose to drive or walk – our experienced guides take great pleasure in introducing you to the camp’s pristine and tranquil surroundings. You can even explore the Zambezi River by inflatable canoe or motorised boat.

However, relaxing in your private deck splash pool – whilst overlooking the Zambezi – is perhaps just as enjoyable. Elephant can be found loitering on the mainland or in the river, while hippo, waterbuck and bushbuck frequent the reed banks and islands. Lions can be heard calling at night and the birdlife is prolific – African finfoot, African skimmer, pratincoles and Pel’s fishing owl all occur here.

  1. Amazing

What a wonderful place. So remote and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. I wish I had spent more time there. It is quiet and peaceful and the sounds of the rapids is relaxing. Accommodations are truly 5 star and the food is delicious. Very exciting taking a shower outside and hearing the baboons, elephants, and lions. Went with John and Stanley on a bush walk and got close to a young male elephant. Both were always alert and put our safety first. Next time I need to take out a canoe. Was lucky and saw a lion calling for her pride. Hard to summarize such a wonderful 3 nights. Nadine and John make the camp extra special.

  2. Perfect location on the Zambezi

What a wonderful start to our Zimbabwean safari holiday! After the hassle of the airport at Victoria Falls, it was lovely to arrive here and experience the serenity of the camp located directly on the river.
The lodges are beautifully equipped and it was lovely to hear the roar of the river over the Rapids. Although located in the National Park where wildlife is free to roam, you are perfectly secure as security guards are always at hand to escort you from your tent to the dining/ bar areas at all times.
The sundowners are great as to watch the sun disappear over the horizon with a drink in hand is really special.
All the staff are great and the food is good ,varied, well prepared and tastes better for being eaten in the open.
Make sure you take the opportunity to either boat or dingy on the river for your sundowner. There is nothing nicer than watching hippos in the river.
Our guide Blessed was excellent and spotted wildlife for us. It was just a pity that this was not too plentiful.u
John — thank you for a lovely stay.

  3. Absolutely Fantastic

I stayed here at the end of our holiday and it is fantastic. The staff are lovely, very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms are beautiful, very spacious and spotlessly clean in a wonderful location overlooking the Zambezi river. The food was very nice and they quite happily prepared another dish for you if you were unable to eat what was on offer

We went on two boat rides on the river and saw lots of birds, hippo and crocodile, we also did a walk in the bush with the Camp Manager, John which was amazing, came very close to elephant, bit of a heart in your mouth moment a couple of times, but an amazing experience
