Musango Safari Camp, an exclusive 16 bed, owner-run camp. Just a short flight away from Victoria Falls or Kariba, Musango offers an abundance of both wildlife and bird life, with a  large selection of activities available, or the option to simply relax.

From walking safaris and ‘Big Five’ game drives, to tiger fishing on Lake Kariba; our guests can encounter the abundant wildlife in a multitude of ways.  Activities are fun, informal and operated by trained and experienced guides.

Whether you choose to fill your day exploring the area, or simply relaxing and soaking up the ambiance of wild Africa, our staff is happy to accommodate your every wish.

The Musango main area consists of a double storey viewing platform where guests can relax and view both the rising and setting sun.  There are areas to relax both upstairs and downstairs.  The ground level provides a shaded lounge area, with adjoining bar and dining room.

Upstairs is where we enjoy our morning coffee and light breakfast before heading out on the morning activity. The morning rising sun provides expansive views over the lake.

After your wake-up call, there is a light breakfast in the main lodge and you will return to the camp for mid-morning brunch.  The afternoon activity begins between 3.30 and 4.00 pm and includes sundowners with the glorious backdrop of the sun setting over the Lake.

After your day’s activities, you can relax around the campfire, watching the amazing night sky. Refreshments are always on hand and you will be hosted by one of the guides and/or Steve and Wendy.  All our guests sit together for dinner (unless they choose not to) and the evening is normally filled with fun, laughter and interesting stories about life in Zimbabwe and close encounters with the bush.

  1. Perfect Family Getaway

The rooms immediately make you feel at home, on holiday and close to a genuine African safari experience. Opening my eyes to the glorious sunrise in the morning and the glistening waters of Lake Kariba was just magical.
The communal dinning / pool area is so convivial and when one is having a family holiday a place of banter, laughter and crazy hours spent playing 30 seconds.
We enjoyed game drives, birding, evening cruises – with fun times catching fish. There is much to do and plenty to see and best of all plenty of time to just relax and enjoy the warm hospitality of Steve and Wendy Edwards the owners and the hosts. Steve is a world-renowned safari guide and his knowledge is endless! The food yummy with lovely salads that are mostly home-grown on the island.

My children range in ages from 17-22. If you enjoy that family holiday that just takes you away from busy lives where you can all connect and enjoy just being together – this is the perfect spot. No one will be bored, and every one can relax and have their own space too.

  2. A special place!

Wow! What a fantastic stay at this magnificent lodge! We arrived by motorcycle and were collected on the mailand and taken across to the island lodge. Beautiful spacious luxury rooms with views across the lake, each one isolated privately on it’s own. Food was top notch with great service from the staff. Steve and Wendy helped us with extra fuel for the bikes, ordering it from the mainland in advance. Really was a super experience, I will be back!

  3. Amazing family run spot

stayed for three nights and its absolutely amazing. there was so much to see , from the vistas of the lake, to the not-entirely-wild bushbuck that roam through the hotel grounds. it was clean, efficient and as it was family run there was a personal touch to everything, from the decorations to the home grown recipes and food( all the veg is grown on the hotel grounds organicaly). as such we felt welcome and engaged with the veld. the bush drives are amazing and a must do if you can. the wild life obligingly presented themseves for our viewing leisure. we saw duiker , elephant, and a leopard kill. besides the animals there are plants and natural wonders to such as petrified forests.
