Ilala Lodge is situated on the Zimbabwean side of Victoria Falls and is only an 8 minute walk from this natural wonder. This lodge is also located on the Zambezi River and is also close to the main town centre, Victoria Falls. Priced from USD 316 per person.
Ilala Lodge is the closest hotel to the Victoria Falls, with the National Park bordering the front lawns of this elegant boutique style property.
Located on two floors, the spacious rooms lead out to either a balcony or double French doors open onto the manicured gardens, offering a view of the spray from the mighty Mosi-oa-Tunya (Victoria Falls). All rooms at Ilala Lodge have en-suite bathrooms with all the in-room amenities that the discerning traveller could wish for. The Palm restaurant gives you the chance to dine under the African stars, whilst enjoying scrumptious cuisine. The crystal clear swimming pool offers a cool respite from the midday sun whilst delicious cocktails await you at the pool bar. Ilala Lodge truly provides distinguished accommodation whilst evoking an ambience of a bygone era.
Illala Lodge has become a firm favourite lodge for guests and travellers in Victoria Falls. Close to the traditional boma dinner experience, guests are able to enjoy the traditional African meal with entertainment right by the lodge. Ilala also offers quick transfers to the city centre and is in close proximity to Victoria Falls. This lodge is a comfortable option for families and couples.
From the copious breakfast to the delicious dinners, the comfortable rooms (with patio) and the wildlife roaming over the grounds (warthogs, hippos, hornbills, to name just a few), this was the perfect place to visit for Victoria Falls. The national park was only a short walk away, as were a pharmacy, other restaurants, and many shops. The Lodge helped us easily arrange a sunset boat trip on the Zambesi river and a helicopter ride over the falls. All staff was friendly and helpful. They also arranged for a taxi to and from the airport. We felt no unrest from the recent political events in Zimbabwe and were perfectly safe.
The Ilala Lodge is conveniently located walking distance about a quarter mile from the Victoria Falls Park which has spectacular views of The Falls. It’s also walking distance to many nice restaurants, shops, and even a brewery. The on-site Palm restaurant is phenomenal with creative and artistically prepared meals for both dinner and breakfast with great views and Outdoor dining hearing and seeing the roast and most of the falls above the lush jungle landscape
Disregard many older reviews that are critical. Wi-Fi worked consistently whether in the room or centrally Service was always accommodating. The newer Deluxe rooms are spacious and well-appointed. Only hassle is if you do Zambia based activities then you have to deal with border crossing and immigration. Overall a great value as we booked 6 couples who unanimously agreed with this opinion.
Perfect place to stop whilst enjoying all that Vic Falls has to offer. Fabulous reception staff booked Boma evening (a must do!) rafting, etc. Great breakfast with wide continental selection and hot food cooked to order. Rooms were spacious (we were in the original block) with reasonable bathrooms. Lovely views across the lawns with the occasional wildlife such as monkeys and deer. Beauty treatments are available and I had a very good massage.
