Elephant Camp Zimbabwe – Situated on a private concession within and bounded by the Masuwe River and the Zambezi gorges, The Elephant Camp has breath-taking views of the Victoria Falls’ as well as the spectacular gorges which separate Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Set against a backdrop of indigenous teak woodland, the imaginative use of eco-friendly canvas tents allows this unique camp to live in harmony with the surrounding environment.

The Elephant Camp’s suites display their own unique elegance, with a picturesque view spilling before them. Each tent adorns a spacious deck, a private plunge pool and an outside shower, all of which are ideal locations for relaxation and appreciation of the surrounding landscape.

Even the bath offers an unparalleled view of the horizon. The rooms have been deliberately sculpted to celebrate the openness of the African bush, and there is an easy flow from the bathroom to bedroom to private lounging area that spreads onto the spacious deck through glass French doors.

The stylish furnishing and décor has been specifically selected to capture the beauty of the natural environment, retaining the authenticity of the African wilderness..

  1. A spray stay

The Elephant Camp is a luxury tented site that sits above the plains and looks over the Zambezi gorge. Unlike other resorts this site is within the Victoria Falls National Park due to its wildlife sanctuary status as it takes in orphan elephants and attempts to rehome some of them to the wild. Some elephants are available for a feeding experience. Don’t expect too much here, it’s not like Thailand as these elephants are actually cared for and respected. TEC doesn’t have much other game as other parks, just a few buffalo and warthogs but your visit is more about Vic Falls anyway. TEC has a resident ‘cheetah ambassador’ called Sylvester who was rescued as a 2 day old cub. The food is great and the staff exceptional. Ash and Jeanine truly want your stay to be memorable and encourage you to get out there and take advantage of what Vic Falls has to offer. Wonder, our tour guide for the Falls was knowledgeable and proud to show us around his town. A fabulous stay which I heartily recommend.

  2. Fantastic Stay at Elephant Camp

Fantastic stay at Elephant Camp. We enjoyed it from start to finish. Staff were very friendly and professional. The visit to Victoria Falls was expertly guided and we loved watching the elephant crossing the river during the sunset river cruise. The room was amazing. We especially enjoyed the plunge pool with a bottle of cold white wine. Meeting the elephants was a great experience. Keep up the good work. Thank you to all your staff for making us so welcome. They are a credit to you. I would recommend staying at Elephant Camp rather than one of the hotels in Victoria Falls as you feel like you are still on safari !

  3. Elephant Camp in Victoria Falls

The Elephant Camp consists of large luxurious tents that have a heat pump and can be cooled or warmed. The accommodations were more luxurious and more expensive than other place we stayed in Africa during out 5 week trip. We were in the Elephant Camp only two nights. The food was excellent. For those who have lots of energy they are inclined to pack your days with activities. The only thing slightly disappointing was the “encounter” with Sylvester the semi-tame cheetah. I also want to say that the guide named Cosmo was exceptional.
