  1. Welcoming

We arrived in Chobe Bakwena Lodge after a few days of travel and were warmly welcomed by OP and staff. We arrived with little time to spare before an afternoon boat ride and are so glad that we hurried off to take part. From our vantage point, we saw our first herds of elephants, hippos, Nile crocodiles, impalas and were enthralled with what Africa has to offer : A chance to connect with Nature and come to know people who are kind, genuine and dedicated. Our guide at Bakwena, Den, used his extensive knowledge of the area to show us so many animals and especially lions (within six feet of our vehicle), giraffes and birds. We will never forget an afternoon drive to the park in which traffic stopped briefly to accommodate a herd of elephants that were crossing the road. Thank you, OP and staff, for everything! It would be a dream of ours to return.

  2. Friendly lodge on the Chobe River

We had 2 nights at Bakwena lodge and were very satisfied. It was a lovely atmosphere especially sitting out at night in the outdoor dining area. Staff were lovely, very friendly people, Ester the manager was a gem. Chobe is a great place to see elephants, crocodiles, buffalo, also saw wild dogs on 2 game drives. It is 20mins from the gate which is a consideration but overall we really enjoyed our experience at this lodge.

  3. Safari holiday

Bakwena was the first stop on our 3 part safari holiday. The location on the Chobe river was excellent as was the accommodation. Lots of game viewing and our guide Smarts was always able to find us the animals we were hoping to see.
This is a beautiful place that I woul highly recommend.
